For a long while now, we have thought about creating a blog but simply never got around to starting it. Now with the country, well world, on lockdown with the current covid-19 crisis- we thought we would try to distract ourselves by starting it now.
We fully appreciate that given the current crisis, the area we are reviewing is one of several industries who are struggling. We understand that it is quite possible some may not survive due to the serious levels of downtrading. We therefore see this blog as a opportunity to share our highlights, in the hope that, when the crisis stabilises and hospitality industry picks up, our readers can look to visit.
To help you understand a little about us; we are a couple in our thirties who have been together over ten years. Natalie is the female half of the couple; she is a non-drinker and has a passion for travel. Ian is the male half, he loves beer or even a wine (or two) and adores eating out. As a result, we tend to mutually agree our holiday destinations but Natalie picks the hotels and Ian selects the restaurants.
When it comes to travel, our holidays require warm weather. We are not particularly into activity type holidays which means we have never been drawn by skiing. However, we take city breaks around Europe which naturally doesn’t guarantee the weather. We prefer the finer things in life, we stay in stunning hotels but when it comes to eating out, we are as comfortable grabbing a burger as we are in a Michelin starred restaurant.
Our initial posts will be a reflection of the destinations we have visited over the last five years. Unfortunately, a lot will be done from memory and won’t be as detailed as they should be but we can assure you any future destinations will include a lot more.
